Prior to this I was a Co-teacher at a preschool for 2 years, kindergarten aide for 1 year, and an RtI teacher for K-5th grade for 8 years. I have my Bachelor in Education degree from Eastern Michigan University. I am taking continuing education classes in math and reading from Spring Arbor Online.

I’m Bruce Branscum (a.k.a. Mr. Bruce to many). I’ve lived in the Deerfield/Petersburg area for many years. My wife, Rhonda, and I have two sons, Sam and Andrew. Both were Deerfield or BD students through graduation. And 2021 blessed us with our first grandson, Colton! When not working, I enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with family and friends. I enjoyed the time as an assistant coach for BD’s 2013 and 2014 football seasons.

I received my Bachelor’s degree from Concordia University in Ann Arbor and loved my art classes so much, I decided to major in art. I have taught art, elementary grades, preschool, and even took school pictures one year when my 3 kids were little!
