Britton Staff

Mrs. Stacy Johnson has been an administrator with Britton Deerfield Schools since August of 2012.  She began her duties as Interim Superintendent on November 25, 2015. The Interim tag fell away on July 1, 2017.

Chelsea Younkman is a master professional artist located in Sylvania, Ohio. Chelsea is currently in her third-year teaching high-school and elementary students at Britton/Deerfield schools. Before teaching in the school system, she was an instructor for Adrian College, Owens Community College and the University of Toledo. At these schools she primarily taught fundamental and figure drawing courses to young adults. She also teaches portrait drawing workshops at The Art Supply Depot, a local art supply store in Sylvania and Bowling Green, Ohio. Younkman has received her Bachelor of Fine Arts (Major-Painting/Minor-Drawing) and Bachelor of Education (Concentration in the Visual Arts) from the University of Toledo and her Master of Fine Arts in 2-Dimensional Studies, with a Specialization in Drawing from Bowling Green State University.

I have been teaching in the district since 2000 & I currently teach English 10 and English 11. I earned my degree from Grand Valley State University. 

I graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in secondary education (mathematics / computer science) as well as Siena Heights University where I received my Master’s of Arts degree in middle level education.

I grew up in Dundee, MI. I recently graduated from Adrian College with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education for Mathematics and Physics.

I am originally from Bluffton, Ohio and just recently moved to the area after earning a Bachelor of Education degree from The University of Toledo in May 2021. I love working with middle school students and enjoy sharing my passion for math!

Hello! My name is Chris Bearer and I teach 5th-8th grade band as well as elementary music/technology at the Deerfield Building. I graduated from Adrian College with a bachelor's degree in Music Education. My favorite interests are music, technology, and the Red Wings.

Erik Johnson serves as the Britton Deerfield Athletic Director, Secondary Health and Physical Education Teacher, the Head Varsity Football Coach and the Head Varsity Golf Coach. Mr. Johnson graduated from Lincoln High School in 1994 and received his bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University in 2000. This is his 11th year at BD and 22nd in Education. A fun fact about Erik is that he has over 100 career varsity football coaching wins! Mr. Johnson enjoys his time at BD, and feels the people truly make our district a special place! 

I’m an Eastern Michigan University Graduate. My grandmother was a secretary for Deerfield schools from 76-2000.

I began my teaching career at BD schools in January 2018 as the 4th-8th Grade School Success Teacher. Prior to this I was a Co-teacher at a preschool for 2 years, kindergarten aide for 1 year, and an RtI teacher for K-5th grade for 8 years. I have my Bachelor in Education degree from Eastern Michigan University. I am taking continuing education classes in math and reading from Spring Arbor Online.

I started my teaching career here at Britton-Deerfield on October 1, 2018 after having earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University, with a major in General Science and a minor in Earth Science. 

I have attended Michigan State University, Eastern Michigan University, and Siena Heights University. I earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and biology, Teacher Certification in general science, and a Master of Arts in education.

Vicky Oliver went to Calvin College earning a degree in Business and Political Science.  She worked in the business field until deciding that teaching was her true path. 

I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in Special Education/Elementary Education with a minor in Math.  I started my teaching career at Prairie Elementary as a fourth-grade teacher, then as a first-grade teacher. 

Hi I'm Chelsea! I've lived in Britton since 2006. I started my career working in daycare and working for the preschool at Bd in 2008 and 2009. I am so happy to be back! I love camping and spending time with my family and friends.

Hi.  My name is Wendy and I have been with the district for 22 years as a parapro. My first eleven years in the Britton building and the last eleven years in Deerfield. I love my job and the kids so much I and work with the best bunch of people ever!!

My family and I moved to Britton in 2009.  I began at Britton Deerfield Schools in 2013 as a substitute for the Preschool Program.  I attended Washtenaw Community Collage to obtain my CDA to become the Great Start Assistant in 2015.  Im currently continuing my education to complete a Bachelors Degree in Child Development. 

Krystal LaFramboise is the Food Service Director for Britton Deerfield Schools. This is her second year leading the department, and her fifth year overall with the district. She currently holds a ServSafe Management certificate, in addition to a high school diploma and some college coursework. Krystal deeply values the opportunity to come to work every day and interact with our students. In her free time she enjoys singing karaoke on the weekends with her children.

Hi everyone! My name is Lauryn, and I'm so excited to be joining the Britton Deerfield community to help with marketing and communications. I was born and raised in Adrian, MI and graduated from the Class of 2018. I went on to attend Western Michigan University, where I earned my degree in Marketing in 2022.After graduation, I moved to Nashville, where I discovered my passion for social media marketing while working with Rustler Hat Co. I had the opportunity to create custom cowboy hats, run our social platforms, plan content and product launches, host events, and connect with some incredible people. It was such an unforgettable experience! As much as I loved Nashville, I missed my friends, family, and boyfriend-so I made the move back home. We recently purchased our first home in the Irish Hills, and we've been having a blast with all the new projects that come with it! A little about me-I love being creative and spending time outdoors. Whether it's being on the lake, hunting, or golfing, I'm happiest outside. I'm truly excited to be a part of BD and help more people in our county and community see how special this school truly is.
